KEN MCINTURFF’S BACKGROUND

L.A Jet Sales is built on the experience of Ken McInturff, Founder. Ken is married with 4 children. He Attended Oklahoma University. Served in the US Navy, Vietnam Veteran aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Kitty Hawk. Ken holds a Commercial, Instrument, and Multi-Engine Pilot’s license with over 5,000 hours of flight time logged.

Ken learned the aviation manufacturing industry from his father Richard McInturff, who worked with aircraft designer Ted Smith to develop and build the first Aero Commander. His father headed up Research and Development with Ted Smith at Rockwell Commander in Norman, Oklahoma where he supervised the experimental construction of all the Commander models including the first Jet Commander 1121. His father later became the factory manager of the Aerostar Factory for Ted Smith in Van Nuys, Ca.

Ken has worked in the aircraft manufacturing industry as a Factory Assembly Man, Flight Line Mechanic, a Corporate Pilot, and a Factory Test Pilot. Ken McInturff entered aircraft sales in 1976 working for a Cessna & Rockwell Commander Dealership at the Van Nuys Airport, the busiest general aviation airport in the World. In 1983 he took over this aircraft sales company and named it Van Nuys Aircraft Sales. Also in 1983 he purchased and managed The Great Atlantic and Pacific Aeroplane Co. which was a large aircraft maintenance, avionics, and parts company consisting of 25 employees. In 1985 Ken renamed Van Nuys Aircraft Sales Company to Ken McInturff Aircraft Sales and to this day is still located at Van Nuys Airport. His business is exclusively selling aircraft and is considered one of the largest aircraft brokers in Southern California. He has sold everything world wide from a two place aircraft trainers to jets, helicopters, & seaplanes.
